Foothills Bluegrass Music Society Workshops
Throughout the year FBMS presents a series of teaching workshops featuring top notch instruction in lead and harmony vocals; guitar, mandolin, banjo, fiddle, bass, and dobro; instrument set-up & maintenance; as well as clogging & old-time dance.
Ranging from 3-hour afternoon & evening sessions to weekend-long workshops with 12 hours of instruction time, we include something for all experience levels & often subsidize events in order to keep the cost of participation affordable. Instructors are chosen based on their abilities to teach effectively & relate well to their students. The general public is invited to attend.

Steve Kaufman's Acoustic Kamps
Three-time National Flatpicking Champion and award-winning instructor Steve Kaufman will be holding two week-long workshops in June 2013:
- The first workshop (June 9 - 15) will feature old time banjo, mountain dulcimer, flatpicking, fingerpicking, old time fiddle and songwriting. Besides Steve, instructors will include legends such as Happy Traum (fingerpicking), Josh Goforth (old time fiddle) and Cathy Fink (old time banjo).
- The second workshop (June 16 - 22) will focus on flatpicking, bluegrass banjo, mandolin, bluegrass fiddle, singing, dobro™ and bass, taught by such luminaries as Russ Barenberg, John Reischman, Bill Keith, and Ivan Rosenberg.
